A degen story

I was reading the sports betting forum on TwoPlusTwo tonight and just had to share this story from poster Poogs....

A kid I know from around here wanted sooo bad to become a high stakes poker player. He was actually a decent card player but had terrible BR management and tons of life leaks. So after busting his FTP account for the millionth time, he decides itd be a good idea to take out a student loan for 2k and deposit it all. It gets down to his last couple hundred when the unthinkable happens. He starts to win. And win and win and win. He keeps climbing up stakes as he's winning and has his whole [roll] on the table every session. He eventually has over 100k in his account. I remember at one time he was playing phil ivey on 2 or 3 tables at once. The high stakes guys must have been ****ting themselves seeing this unknown mult-tabling 50/100 PLO or whatever he was playing.

So this goes on for a few days. Every night he plays ivey, antonious, and I think galflond iirc. Well of course eventually things even out and he starts to lose. And lose and lose and lose. He loses everything...I beleive at the high point his roll was close to 200k. He loses every cent of it and defaults on the 2k loan. Within a week this kid went from 0 to 200k to -2k with a defaulted loan on his credit report.

I hope he doesnt read this forum.

I'm sure I will have more to post later on.
